Hunters Gathering: Feb. 2020
Off to the Races! We are well on our way into 2020 now, and Hunters has come out of the gate in full force this year. If you have somehow missed everything going on, well, we can take some time to get you a bit more up to speed. Now a real quick reminder before we dive in to come connect up with the team and community on our official social pages:
Take What is Offered!
At the beginning of the week we launched our Kickstarter campaign for Altered Carbon: The Roleplaying Game, and you have all come out in force! Take what is offered, indeed.
While that is certainly impressive in and of itself, we're still ascending more everyday. At the time of writing we are now at 860% Funding with $172K from over 1600 backers! That means not only have we funded, but we've been unlocking a load of amazing Stretch Goals with more coming all the time.
You've unlocked multiple new supplements, beautiful miniatures for those who love to get tactical with their combat (or the shrewd collector), and so much more. When we hit $175K we'll be unlocking another awesome set of minis that you can pick up, as well as revealing what our next Stretch Goals will be!
We've also been fortunate enough to have the campaign covered far and wide in the media. If you missed out on the coverage we figured we could provide you with a nice and consolidated roundup from the week to catch up on (we probably missed some of it still):
We are so absolutely grateful to everyone who has come on board to show their support of the project so far, and if you've been holding out now is a great time to hop on and get involved in the process with us. Of course if that still doesn't have you sold, maybe you would like to take a quick sneak peek at the RPG before you commit? Well our friends over at Hyper RPG (give them a subscribe for real) have you covered with a oneshot liveplay featuring our own Ivan Van Norman as the GM! Check it out now.
Oh, and before we move on, in case you missed it - check out this amazing trailer for Altered Carbon Season 2 coming February 27 to Netflix!
Free Content Friday 2020 Continues!
Another month means it is time for another installment of our Free Content Friday 2020 run! Oh, but this month we have an extra pleasant surprise for you on top of your free content. The program has expanded even further! The quick rundown if you're new to the community:
Free Content Friday is a program at Hunters Entertainment where we collaborate with industry veterans and members of our amazing community to bring fresh and free content to our games. In 2020 we were very pleased to grow the program to include Outbreak: Undead.., Kids on Bikes, and Icarus; and we are once again thrilled to expand the offerings via our partners at Renegade Game Studios with the inclusion of Overlight! We have even gone in and added a release for January to make sure it keeps pace with the rest of our content offerings. Now, what are we getting this month?
For Outbreak: Undead.. we have a nightmare from the 1st Edition being brought up to the 2nd Edition standards - the "Infested" has returned as a One Big Monster option! This grotesque creature comes from the mind of our own lead developer, Christopher J. De La Rosa. It is sure to leave your survivors feeling a little creepy-crawly after an encounter!
With Kids on Bikes, developer Doug Levandowski has teamed up with fellow English teacher Jack Bathke to provide us with a new little story. This month you will find a scenario entitled "Something Weird This Way Comes: Dunsinane High School" that plays on their mutual love for theater. This was also Doug's old go-to scenario for convention games he'd run, so looks like he'll have to cook us up something new for future shows!
Next for Icarus we are continuing the trend of our fun Session 0 alternatives, once again put together by developer Spenser Starke. In this installment he explores "Session 0 for Teens in Space" bringing the next of the Powered by Kids on Bikes games into the fold. Drop by and see how the process can work, then blast off into the cosmos!
Last, but most certainly not least, we have our Overlight offering for you - both January and February in one go to keep us on track! Both are installments to the "Seeds of Berkhan" created by developers George Holland and Paul Alexander Butler. The first introduces us to the gladiator Gromolus Three-Heads and the second takes us to the resort of The Leviathan Grand. Add a little something more to your kaleidoscopic adventures today!
That covers this month's new free content that you can download over on DriveThruRPG (and it is available right now), but don't forget that you can also get involved by creating content for the program. Just send an email to Alex with a pitch for a content release, and if we approve the idea you'll get to work it up professionally with the team and be paid for your work! We look forward to working with you.
Growing Roll20 Support!
We have been pretty pleased with the results of our efforts to get official support in place for our game lines on Roll20 this year. So far we've gotten official character sheets up for both Kids on Bikes and Outbreak: Undead.. as well as getting a Marketplace item up for House on Poplar Court that you can purchase right now and take your kids on an adventure. We are proud to say that our level of support continues to grow this month with the release of the Kids on Bikes Compendium to the Marketplace. Yep, you can now get the core rules for the game right in Roll20!
We also have our Tri-County Precinct scenario coming soon too for those who prefer a little more zombies in their games, though there have been some delays on this one that are being finalized, simply being a more complex game. We are working with out developer to sort out these last little issues so we can get that released this month as well.
As always, we love how Roll20 helps to break down the greatest of barriers most gamers face, geography. We are thrilled to provide continued support for our products on the platform and help gamers the world over play a little more freely.
Convention Season Inbound!
We would like to real quick touch on the current plans we have for this convention season, as obviously a number of events are gearing up at this point. We can confirm safely at this time that Hunters Entertainment will be joining our partners at Renegade Game Studios for both Origins Game Fair and Gen Con here in 2020! We've got a schedule of events and games we're planning to have, so be sure to keep a look out for more details as they become available here and on our social networks.
We'll be looking to get our schedules assigned to Gamemasters very soon, so those of you who are already in our pool of convention GMs can expect to be hearing from us very soon about sorting these events out. As we are planning to grow our presence this year at various shows, we also expect to be reaching out to our community to acquire some more volunteers to help us cover the load of games we expect to have on offer. It is recommended that you head over to our Discord Server to be made aware of when these offers become available as they tend to go quickly.
We're looking forward to seeing you all at some shows this year!

That covers things for now, but you guys, as crazy as it is to think about it - this is all just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. For now, get out there and play some games!
